Download ShekelSync for your operating system. The app is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

Register with Email
Create your account using just your email address. Registration is free — no credit card required.

- Choose a secure password

Connect Your Bank
Navigate to the sidebar and click "Add Account". Select your Israeli bank or credit card company from the list.
- Click "Add Account" in the sidebar
- Select your bank (Leumi, Hapoalim, Discount, etc.)
- Enter your bank credentials securely
- Credentials are encrypted at rest locally; during sync they are used to sign in directly to your bank/card provider

Enable Auto-Sync
Go to Settings and enable automatic background sync so your data stays fresh without lifting a finger.

Security Assumptions & Shared Responsibility
This is a local-first desktop app. The points below reflect the current implementation and your responsibilities.
What The Current Code Does
- Saved credentials are encrypted at rest locally before being stored in the local database.
- The encryption key is loaded from OS secure storage (keychain/safe storage), with Linux environment-key fallback in some setups.
- Sync runs on your machine using israeli-bank-scrapers and local browser automation.
- Credentials are used to authenticate directly with your bank/card provider during sync, not via a ShekelSync-hosted scraping backend.
- Internal app APIs are local and protected with session tokens.
- Crash telemetry is user-controlled; if enabled, diagnostics are sent to Sentry.
Your Responsibilities & Risks
- Trust the ShekelSync release you install and the israeli-bank-scrapers/dependency supply chain.
- Run on a trusted, malware-resistant machine or isolated environment.
- Review code and release artifacts before using real credentials (especially for source builds).
- Best-effort security only: data exposure can still happen due to vulnerabilities, provider changes, local compromise, or misconfiguration.
- Harden your endpoint with disk encryption, strong OS auth, updates, and endpoint protection.
No zero-risk guarantee. If your threat model is strict, use dedicated credentials/accounts (where supported) and prefer an isolated VM/device.
